Fresh new start of the blog

Last Friday I went to the Holland Casino to play some poker. I had only about €500 with me for the €5-€5 no limit hold em game. I bought in for the €500 and I decided to start really tight to find out who are the sharks and fishes at the table.

Playing tight was not very hard, because I got dealt very shitty hands like J 2, 8 3 etc…I started to play looser when a Swedish tourist joined the table. This guy had a can with him with a lot of 5K plaques and I think he had more then 60K with him. He seemed like a very big gambler and when he talked about how the casino pay for his hotel, my thoughts where confirmed. I played two very big pots with him.

First I got 3 3 and after 2 limpers I checked in the small blind. Flop was something like 3 Q A and I bet €30 out on the flop, hoping someone has hit this flop.A TAG player called and the Swedish gambler raised to €150. I decided not to slowplay this hand. I don’t want to give away free cards and I think the gambler would not fold often. I pushed all-in for about €500. The first caller folded and the Swedish gambler called. I don’t remember the turn and river cards anymore, but when I showed my pocket 3 he mucked his hand I won the pot.

My biggest hand that evening was when I found AK in early position. I raised to €30, A good player called and the gambler raised to €200 on the button (we both had a stack around 1K). I flat called with the Idea to get all the money in on every A or K high flop. The good player who called pre-flop folded. The flop was A high with 2 diamonds. I frontbetted €200 to induce a push from him. Ofcourse the gambler pushed all in and I instacalled him. Ofcource he had nothing, even not a diamond. So he doubled me up again.

Later this gambler left and the pots where getting smaller. Other interesting hands where when I found JJ UTG. I raised and got 1 caller on the BB. This guy was very aggressive, but had a tendency to slowplay monsters and bet when he misses. Flop was K T 4. I c-bet and he called. Turn a K check – check. River a 2 and then he potted about €150. This bet didn’t made sense at all! If he had a real good hand where he wanted value from he should at least bet on the turn. If he wanted value of a T he would also not bet that much I think. So I called him and he turned around AQ and I won the pot.

There where some more interesting hands but I cannot remember them all exactly. But the end result was a €2850,- stack and left with a very good feeling.

Nice notice. Rob Hollink was also in the poker room and when I walked outside I saw Patrick antonius.

I don't update ofter, but try to update this blog at least once every 2 months now.
